Rider's Route

Cookie Policy

Version 2.1 · Effective August 27, 2026

This Cookie Policy explains how the website at https://ridersroute.app uses cookies and similar technologies, what categories we use, and how you can control them. Read it together with our Privacy Policy.

It covers the website only. The mobile app is a native application that sets no cookies — section 12 explains what it does instead.

1.Who operates this website

This website is operated by Rider's Route S.R.L., Str. Bega nr. 47, Ghiroda, Timiș County, Romania, Trade Register no. J2026038748004 (EUID ROONRC.J2026038748004), CUI 54898440, VAT RO54898440. Contact: contact@ridersroute.app.

2.What cookies are

Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. They let a site remember your actions and preferences — such as your language and your consent choices — and help us understand how the site is used.

We also use similar technologies, including browser local storage, which stores data on your device in the same way but is not sent with every request. Throughout this policy, “cookies” means all of these.

Cookies set by this website are first-party. Cookies set by another domain — for example by Google when you consent to analytics — are third-party. A session cookie is deleted when you close your browser; a persistent cookie stays until it expires or you delete it.

4.The categories we use

We group cookies into four categories. Necessary cookies are always active; the other three are set only if you opt in.

  • Strictly necessary

    Required for the site to work — security, load balancing, remembering your language and your cookie choices. These cannot be switched off.

  • Analytics

    Help us understand how visitors use the site (pages visited, time on site) so we can improve it. Data is aggregated. Uses Google Analytics.

  • Marketing & advertising

    Used to measure and personalize advertising and to build a profile of your interests. Turning this off is also a 'do not sell or share' opt-out.

  • Preferences

    Remember choices you make (such as region or personalization) to give you a more tailored experience.

5.Cookies and storage used on this site

The table lists every cookie this site may set, together with who sets it, what it does and how long it lasts. An asterisk marks a name prefix — Google Analytics, for example, appends an identifier for the specific measurement stream.

The Marketing category exists so that advertising measurement can be enabled without changing your consent options. No advertising tag is currently active on this site, so those cookies are not being set today. Section 11 shows you exactly what is stored in your own browser right now.

6.Managing your consent

On your first visit we ask for consent before setting any non-essential cookie. You can accept all, reject all, or choose category by category. Rejecting all is a single click, exactly like accepting.

You can change your mind at any time — including withdrawing consent entirely — using the button below, or the Cookie settings link in the footer of every page.

Withdrawing consent stops further use of the relevant cookies. Cookies already set by a third party are not automatically removed from your device by that action; section 10 explains how to delete them in your browser.

8.What our analytics actually measure

If you consent to Analytics, we use Google Analytics 4, provided by Google Ireland Limited, to understand aggregate use of the site — which pages are visited, how visitors arrive, roughly where they are, and which devices they use. This tells us which routes and features people look for, so we can improve the site.

Our configuration:

  • IP addresses are not stored by Google Analytics 4 — they are used transiently to derive coarse location and then discarded;
  • we do not enable Google Signals, advertising personalisation or cross-device tracking;
  • we do not upload or link any user-provided identifier such as your email address;
  • user- and event-level data is retained by Google for at most 14 months.

Google's own handling of this data is described in the Google Privacy Policy. Transfers outside the EEA are covered in section 10 of our Privacy Policy.

9.US privacy rights

If you live in California or another US state with a comprehensive privacy law, you have the right to opt out of the “sale” or “sharing” of your personal information for cross-context behavioural advertising.

Turning off the Marketing category, or using the Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information link in the footer, exercises that opt-out. We do not knowingly sell the personal information of minors, and as stated above we run no advertising tags at present.

10.Global Privacy Control

This site honours the Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal. If your browser or an extension sends GPC, we automatically treat it as an opt-out of the sale and sharing of your personal information and switch marketing cookies off, without you having to do anything else.

When we detect the signal, the consent banner tells you so, and the record of your choice notes that GPC was present at the time.

11.Controlling cookies in your browser

Independently of our controls, your browser lets you block or delete cookies, usually under Settings → Privacy. Blocking all cookies will stop parts of this site from working — including remembering your language and the fact that you rejected everything else.

12.What is stored in your browser right now

This is not a static list. The table below is generated live from your own browser and shows the cookies currently stored for this site, classified against the same registry the policy above is built from.

You haven't made a choice yet — only strictly necessary cookies are active.

13.The mobile app

The Rider's Route mobile app is a native application. It uses no browser cookies, no advertising SDKs, no cross-app or cross-device tracking, and no device fingerprinting. Instead it stores data on your device using:

  • local app storage — your session token so you stay signed in, your in-app preferences, and cached data that reduces load times and mobile data use;
  • a push notification token, if you allow notifications, used solely to deliver notifications to your device;
  • a diagnostics session identifier generated by Sentry to group related crash events; it does not identify you personally unless you are signed in, in which case only your account identifier is attached.

Signing out clears the session token; uninstalling the app removes all locally stored data; deleting your account removes the server-side data described in the Privacy Policy.

Loading maps in the app contacts Mapbox, which receives your IP address and device information as a technical necessity of delivering map data. See the Mapbox privacy policy.

14.Changes to this policy

We may update this policy. When changes are material — a new category, a new purpose, a new provider — we will publish the revised version with a new version number and effective date, and ask for your consent again.

15.Contact

Questions about this policy or about your data? Write to contact@ridersroute.app or to Rider's Route S.R.L., Str. Bega nr. 47, Ghiroda, Timiș County, Romania.

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Romanian data protection authority — see section 12 of our Privacy Policy.
